Support Learning

Time well spent

There are so many ways to help! Tutoring one on one with some of our learners, volunteering at a fundraising event, advocating to funding agencies and groups on our behalf, and joining our Board of Directors! Call us to see how you can have a huge impact within your community - we guarantee it will be time well spent.

What type of person becomes a volunteer tutor?
Many different types! If you have always wanted to help someone learn new skills, this may be your outlet. If you have a sense of humour and like people, if you are comfortable with reading and writing in English, and if you have patience, you could be a tutor.

How much time will I need to volunteer?
As much as you can offer! We ask that tutors volunteer their time on a regular basis, i.e. one day every week, two half days every week, etc. so that the client maintains consistency. You may wish to tutor only one learner, which could be 2 hours a week, or more if you have the time. It really is up to you and what you want to offer.

How do you train me?
All new tutors receive training at our locations.

Please note that we require all volunteers, tutors, and staff to fill in an application, and submit a police record check for our files.
